How to find us
We are art dealers, publishers and service providers operating from offices in Portsmouth at 8 Whitwell Road, Southsea, PO4 0QR (see CONTACT US).
By road
Take the A3, M3 or A27 until you get onto the M27. Turn off onto the M275 signposted Portsmouth or the A2030 Eastern Road signposted Southsea and follow the signs until you reach the Southsea seafront (signs may include the Royal Marines Museum and the D-Day Museum).
FROM THE EAST
If approaching from A2030 Eastern Road/the east at Southsea seafront you will have the sea on your left. Halfway along the seafront you will come to South Parade Pier. When you can see South Parade Pier ahead on your left you will pass a park with a boating lake – turn right and right to head back towards the lake (40 metres) then at the corner of the lake turn left into Granada Road.
FROM THE WEST
If approaching from the M275/the west you will come through the edge of Portsmouth town centre. When you reach Southsea seafront you will have the sea on your right.
Along the seafront, pass Southsea Common on your left and – along the beach on your right – Clarence Pier funfair, the hovercraft terminal, the D-Day Museum, Southsea Castle and the Pyramids swimming baths until the road comes to a T-junction just before South Parade Pier. Turn right and continue towards South Parade Pier (about 70 metres).
At the entrance to South Parade Pier there is a pedestrian crossing and then the large Royal Beach Hotel. Filter left along the front of the hotel and after 40 metres take the first left into Granada Road. If you drive alongside the boating lake you have gone too far.
FROM THE BOATING LAKE (Canoe Lake)
From either east or west, once you turn into Granada Road at the corner of Canoe Lake take the first right into Bembridge Crescent (80 metres) then first left into Whitwell Road (20 metres). We are at No. 8 Whitwell Road, about 70 metres down on the left – the third house on the left before the road bends.
By rail, bus, coach or ferry
From all Portsmouth’s railway stations, coach station or ferry terminals you can get a taxi to our office or, from nearby, a bus to South Parade Pier which is about 200 metres from us (please note – we do not advise trying to find us by bus from the Continental Ferry Port).
BUS – GO TO SOUTH PARADE PIER BUS STOP
The nearest local bus stop to us is South Parade Pier bus stop, situated between South Parade Pier and Canoe Lake. At the corner of Canoe Lake, take the first right into Bembridge Crescent (80 metres) then first left into Whitwell Road (20 metres). We are at No. 8 Whitwell Road, about 70 metres down on the left – the third last building on the left before the road bends.
RAILWAY TRAINS
From London Waterloo, the west, the midlands and various lines along the south coast including Gatwick Airport all come into Portsmouth and stop at all three of the city’s railway stations – the nearest to us is Fratton Station (taxi fare about £3), then the city centre Portsmouth & Southsea station (taxi about £4), then the terminus railway station is Portsmouth Harbour (taxi fare about £5).
COACH
Ask your coach driver if you can get off at South Parade Pier bus stop on Portsmouth’s seafront. If you can, follow the directions above (“NEAREST BUS STOP”). If not, get off the coach at Portsmouth Interchange Bus Station which is outside Portsmouth Harbour Railway Station and either take a taxi directly to our door (fare about £5) or a bus to South Parade Pier bus stop (see above for directions from there).
FERRIES & HOVERCRAFT
- FROM FRANCE AND SPAIN: You will arrive at Portsmouth’s Continental Ferry Port. We recommend you take a taxi from there direct to our address (fare about £5).
- FROM THE ISLE OF WIGHT:
- The Hovercraft lands at South Parade, about 2.5 km walk. You can walk, get a bus to South Parade Pier (see directions above from South Parade Pier bus stop), or a taxi (fare about £2), or take the Southsea Express land train into Central Southsea and then walk or bus to South Parade Pier bus stop (see directions above from South Parade Pier bus stop).
- Other ferries from the IoW bring you either directly to Portsmouth Harbour Railway Station or to near Gunwharf Quays/Camber Dock, from where you can walk to the taxi ranks and bus stops of Portsmouth Harbour Railway. In either case, see the RAILWAY TRAINS directions above.
