Pete Johnstone has been painting for thirty years. He trained initially as a Technical Illustrator, and so his acquired watercolour skills are largely self
taught. Having pursued a career working for the Royal Navy he is now enjoying an early retirement allowing more time to realise his dream of establishing himself as a maritime artist.
His interest in ships of all definitions and the maritime scene in general has led to countless watercolours with subjects ranging from the excitement
of Cowes Week to Tall Ships, from historic single ship actions to current RN warships, sleepy creeks, bustling harbours and studies of the Solent's long
association with pleasure steamers.
